Meet Rebecca, the Presidential Raccoon. Sent from Mississippi to the White House as a “guest” for Thanksgiving dinner, she quickly won over the Coolidge family and soon became a favorite of the president and First Lady Grace Coolidge, and was a frequent sight at White House events, including Easter egg rolls.
The raccoon’s arrival was announced by the president in one of his regular press conferences. “I don’t think she is quite grown yet,” Coolidge told reporters. “She is very playful, very interesting, and seems very well trained and well behaved.” #furnews
